Samuel P. Gussis has a very broad commercial real estate practice.  Mr. Gussis represents commercial real estate owners on acquisition and disposition, leasing and financing matters (which includes debt restructuring), and represents both landlords and tenants in lease negotiations for both office and retail space.  Mr. Gussis has represented lenders across the U.S. in all aspects of commercial mortgage transactions – from loan origination (senior and mezzanine) to the handling of non-performing loans.

Representative Matters

  • Represented developer in financing and leasing of an approximately 500,000 square-foot shopping center in suburban Chicago.

  • Represented lender in combination mortgage loan and mezzanine loan on a shopping center in Houston.

  • Represented borrower in restructuring of loan secured by apartment complex located in suburban Atlanta.

  • Represented purchaser of a performing note secured by a health club facility in suburban Minneapolis.

  • Represented lender in restructuring of a non-performing loan secured by a retail center in suburban Dallas.

  • Represented lender in financing of an international hotel on a pier in New Jersey.

  • Represented a national utility company in the sale and leaseback of its regional headquarters in suburban Chicago.
